Heat Resistant Paint Black is an enamel coating designed by Coo-Var. It is designed for use in areas prone to high temperature, such as hot pipes, radiators and fire surrounds. It is also available in a spray and is suitable for areas exposed to up to 600C of indirect heat.
The coating is touch dry in 30 minutes at room temperature. However, full cure only occurs after heating to above 220°c for 20-30 minutes. Some fume or light generation is associated with initial cure.
Primarily designed to withstand greater heat than conventional paints such as household and DIY paints and are considered as a high performance specialised coating as they are based on Silicone resins, which resist heat more than traditional organic resins.
- Black heat resistant paint is becoming a popular choice for boilers where heat and moisture resistance is a priority.
- Fans that need to manoeuvre heat through ducting systems.
- Chimneys also require this type of coating due to the elevated temperatures they are subjected to. In addition, the Satin finish is the more desirable choice.
- Exhaust systems also require this type of paint as the coating will easily out perform standard paint.
